Framed is an interesting little mobile game that manages to be puzzle-oriented without seeming like it revolves around puzzles. While it’s a bit on the short side (it can be finished in around an hour on a first playthrough, and even faster after that), it has an interesting visual style and a nice noir-detective vibe to it. That said, there’s no actual dialogue and the story plays out entirely through the body language and situations of the three playable characters, which doesn’t really suffice to explain what’s happening at any point in the game. The first time I played through Framed, I had no idea who the guy with the mustache was. To be perfectly honest, I still don’t know who he is, or who the other two characters are, either. They’re just little shadow people running from police at the beginning of the game for some indiscernible reason. It’s a good game worth playing regardless, but you don’t exactly get a lot of bang for your buck, and it can be a bit indie-pretentious.
