Detective Grimoire is a charming little adventure game. It may not be the longest, most complex game you’ll ever play—in fact, it’s actually quite simplistic and short—but it does have charm in spades. It also has a weird “conclusion making” screen where you can play around with the words and make the main character say some truly ridiculous things (such as “my lost hat was one of the reasons the night sky was the murderer”). There a Mad Lib-esque kind of joy to this that other games can’t come close to, and between that, the music, and the lighthearted nature of the story, Grimoire is definitely worth a look.
