I’ve been a bit slow updating the site lately for various reasons, the most recent of which being a period of 30-something hours where I didn’t get any sleep. I figured it wouldn’t be smart to try and write anything while I hallucinated shadows darting around the rooms I walked through lest I wake up to having posted something completely incoherent and bizarre, so things will just have to be a bit behind until I can catch up. That said, I have several completed games to review, including Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. I haven’t exactly been a fan of series, finishing the first and second game and getting so bored with the sameness of the third that I put it aside five minutes in and started ignoring the entire series, but despite the bugs and exclusive content (exclusive to platforms, exclusive to Uplay, exclusive to people whose names start with an S and enjoy Coldplay—only one of those isn’t real, and that’s two too many), I actually enjoyed my time with it. It has some huge, glaring problems, most notably revolving around the painfully amateurish writing and some awkward mechanics that are inexplicably still a staple of the games, but as a whole it was a generally pleasant experience.
